in chp 6 i learned oabout the treaty of oregon and jason lee. The treaty of oregon took place so wa or and id would become part of the us. Jason was a methodist who spoke to groups to sspread christiantiy. this is importatn because if the treaty of or didnt take place we wouldnt be citizens of the us!! also jason lee brang word of reliogin around the state.
In chp 5 i learned about the fur traders. The fur traders sold fur as a buisness. They opened forts. This is important becasue they started the buisness of fur trading in wa. they also brang many people to washington.
In chp 4 i learned about the cascade and plateau indians. I also learned about the salmon. What i learned is that the c and p indians helped produce our states history and culture. I also learned that the salmon not only help us a lot today, but they were a key creature during the indian times. This is important becdause we still use salmon today like the indians. And we take in the indians culture.
In chapter three the things I will remember most is about the life and ways the Plateau and Coastal Indians lived. What i learned was about all the tools they used(smokehouses, longhouse bark peeling, bark for clothing, exc.) Also I learned there way of culture. For example, they had a shaman who was their main spiritual leader, he would preform songs and dances to the spirits for various reasons(sick people mainly). This is important to our states history because they tought us how do do many things that we still do today. Its also very good to know about your states history. This is what i learned in chp 3.
In chapter 2 i learned a lot of things. One thing specifically that i learned was about the 7 regions of wa. There are 7 regions that devide up wa. In each of the regions there are lots of different plants and animals. Also, the climate changes in each region. Some of the regions are the Olympic Peninsula, Okanogan Highlands, The Puget Lowlands, and more. Some share similar animals or plants and some have organisms that none others have. This is what i learned in chp 2 this week
In chapter one the thing that I will remember most is probably the rain shadow effect. What i learned is that it is really rainy in places like port angeles because the water from the Pacific ocean comes into the clouds and drops down into that city. Then the water travels up to the mountains and the process repeats itself when the clouds reach water. This is important to our states history because now I know why it rains and snows in certain places. Also the tempature in some of the cities. That is what i learned in chapter one.
I think the quality on my crusades project was good because i had good colors, fonts, and pictures in it. Also the style of writing was good for this report. I think the best part of my project waws my introduction because it really got people into the story. I think my 3 causal factors could be improved because I didnt give a lot of detail on some of the factors. If I were to do this again I would probably change the religion(i.e jews instead of christians). I REALLY liked diigo. It was a really easy way to retrieve the good info and the website it was from. I didnt like the website evaluations because there were a lot of questions that the site didnt have the answer to.
On the Muhammad book I think I did well. First I made/edited the summarys then I did the drawings and Arabic words. I really liked doing this because I really thought I learned a lor more than when we do tests. I think I did well on the Summarys. By doing the summarys it really helped me learn about Muhammad. I would probably make the drawings/coloring better next time. I learned that Muhammad really made a big impact on the belief in monotheism. I definatly like the projects better than the tests. I like the projects because I really have to think and get into the project rather than just finding the answers in a textbook. I definatly learned more on this subject than all of the other chapters because of this project.
Living in the Arabian Peninsula can be very hard. When living at the Arabian Peninsula there are some adaptions that You need to make. How did they do it? If you live in the Desert you should use your camels for food and you could also use them for blankets. Also, you could wear light clothing that covers your whole body because of the heat and the sun. In the Oases, you should dig wells and irrigation systems because there is a lot of water underground. You could also use date palms for food. Date Palms also work well for homes. On the Coastal Plain you need to trade by boat because you live on a seaport. You could build wells for all the rain that falls. Also you could farm on the plains for food. At the Mountains you could build terraces so the water wouldn’t go off the mountain. On the mountains you could build wells to upkeep water, also. Lastly, you could build your houses out of mud brick. These are 10 simple steps on ways to adapt to the Arabian Peninsula.
